kIedys bedzie mozna przeleciec Metallike. A Swedish court has ruled that the parents of a seven-month-old girl in Kungälv, Sweden can name their child Metallica, according to the Swedish newspaper GP. The girl's parents wanted to give their daughter a name that combined their first names. After picking Metallica and checking twice with the Swedish tax agency Skatteverket if the name was acceptable, they were told that it shouldn't be a problem since there is already a girl in Sweden called Metallica. When they filed Metallica as one of the girl's three first names, the Skatteverket suddenly objected, claiming that the name was inappropriate because a famous hard rock band bears that name and the fact that it's too close to the word "metal." The parents filed an appeal with the district court, which has now ruled that the use of the name won't pose any problems for either the girl or anyone that she comes in contact with. One member of the jury objected to the ruling, claiming that the name probably will cause discomfort to whomever bears it.

W obrebie kazdego gatunku muzycznego zdarzaja sie analfabeci a im bardziej "skomplikowana" jest to muza tym jest ich wiecej. A deathmetal nie nalezy do gatunków prostych. Łatwiej nauczyc riffów Metalliki niz Vadera - to oczywiste.
bardziej chodziło mi o te ambitniejsze kapele...
moze nie pokroju Death bo akurat w przypadku tych kapel łączących deathmetal z jazzem to nie ma watpliwosci ze nalezy miec do nich szacunek bo sa to muzycy o nieprzecietnych mozliwosciach. ale grajace brutalny deathmetal(ale z jakas linia melodyczna czy pomysłem na kawałek)
PS. najżałosniejsza odmiana metalu jest wg mnie polski black metal...totalna porazka(pomijajac juz fakt preznego rozwijania sie subkultury NSBM - narodowo-socjalistyczny black metal <rozpacz>)

The new EP

The founding member of Whitesnake is objecting to John McCain's use of the hair-metal band's classic "Here I Go Again" during a campaign rally in Colorado on Tuesady.
"I must respectfully object to having my music misappropriated for a political campaign that I do not personally support," David Coverdale said in an e-mail statement to RAW STORY, after hearing the song at a McCain rally broadcast on CNN. "I am delighted to add that this election is my first voting experience as a brand new citizen of the United States of America... I voted for, & fully support, the Democratic representative, Senator Barak Obama, & believe in my heart & soul that he will best represent these United States in the most profound & fulfilling way."
Coverdale, a UK native, became an American citizen in March of 2007 after living in the US for 20 years.

Tylko gdzie w tym wszystkim jest Swedish Melodic Metal, gdzie jakaś nutka mistycyzmu, gdzie poczucie że oto tworzy się kawał wielkiej muzyki, gdzie natchnienie? ech... było minęło. Period.

The organizers of the Swedish hard rock/heavy metal festival Gates of Metal may face prosecution over the stage show put on by the Norwegian black metal band MAYHEM last Saturday (August 5). Pig heads and other animal parts decorated the stage during the band's performance — a violation of the Swedish animal by-product regulation.

he long awaited new album "Wipe out, Burn down, Annihilate" by the Swedish Techno-Trance-Electro- Metal band Tolchock is soon out. The album will be released in September 2005 on COP International. You can already check out the Tolchock track "I Feel Sick" that has been uploaded to myspace.com/copint . The material is described as a blend of electro/industrial and metal/punk. After several years of silence finally there are some new signs of life from the Swedish industrial duo and Raison D’Etre-side project Stratvm Terror. Out in May 2005 via Old Europa Café is the new third full length album "Fixation". This album mainly contains unreleased material recorded in 1998-1999, in the vein of the earlier CD album "Genetic Implosion" but more harsh and brutal. Included as well in this set are also two completely new tracks recorded in 2004 showing a change in direction by combining doom metal and industrial elements. There is also a live track included recorded at the Nursery Injection Festival in Stockholm 1998.

HYPOCRISY, the Swedish extreme metal band led by guitarist/vocalist Peter Tägtgren (also of PAIN), has issued the following update:
"As you know Peter has been busy touring with PAIN during the first half of this year. But in between the tours, vocals [for the new HYPOCRISY album] have been recorded. Three songs are finished with vocals so far. Ten more to go until the final mixing will begin.
"The plan was to be finished with the album in the first quater of this year and to release it in the summer. But we're very sorry to let you know that it's not gonna happen. During the recording process we realized that we would't make it in time. We don't want to stress just to get it out, because this album is going to be the best we've ever done! We're going to make a new release plan with our record company and the album will be out later this year. The cover for the album is already decided but before we make it offical we would like to set the title for it. There are still some work to do but we'll let you know how it's going.
"We can't wait for it to be released and finally go on tour again!"

I wonder why "evil" bands always have to use Germanesque names and/or song-titles?
There's a ton of influential Scandinavian Black Metal/Death Metal bands, so a lot of it is just wanting to fit in with that whole vibe. Most of the retarded "evil" names sound more Swedish influenced than anything. Now listening to Totalitar (from Sweden, natch) "Vi Ar Eliten" LP, just finished listening to Poison Idea "feel the darkness"

Ack! All the best death metal is from sweden! Anyone ever heard of NWOSDM? New wave of swedish death metal? It's become almost a whole genre by now. And the norwegian black metal scene is the biggest and most famous in the world.

Wielkie sukcesy świętują w ostatnich dniach szwedzcy metalowcy z In Flames. Niecały tydzień po światowej premierze ich nowa płyta "Come Clarity" wdarła się na szczyty list sprzedaży w Szwecji i Finlandii, bardzo wysoko uplasowała się również w Niemczech, gdzie zadebiutowała na pozycji 8, zaś w Anglii na 45. Jakby tego było mało, podczas ceremonii Swedish Grammy Awards, In Flames otrzymał również nagrodę szwedzkiego rządu za "najlepszy muzyczny towar eksportowy", a minister gospodarki Thomas Ostros powiedział, że "dzięki In Flames Szwecja ma teraz zespół metalowy należący do absolutnej światowej elity". In Flames jest pierwszym metalowym zespołem, który zdobył to prestiżowe wyróżnienie.
"Come Clarity" zbiera świetne recenzje w europejskiej prasie i został uznany za płytę miesiąca w tak renomowanych pismach, jak Rock Hard i Metal Hammer. Płyta jest już dostępna w Polsce w dystrybucji Mystic Production.Beating Me Down... Into The Ground...

Ja nie zawsze scrobbluję. Jak porządkuję muzykę (czyt. dodaję nową) to zawsze mam scrobbla wyłączonego. Wtedy zdarza mi się każdego kawałke przesłuchać z połowę, a last.fm potrafi to zapisać. Gdybym tego nie robił później jeszcze by wyszło, że mam 100 szant przesłuchanych... Poza tym jakiś ułamek, to mi brat nastukał. Już zamowiona:) Czekam aż przyjdzie do domu i... poczytamy, zobaczymy. Ale myślę, zę będzie ok. Kagra coraz mocniej zaczyna sie specjalizować w książkach rockowo/metalowych - widać, że robią je fani tej muzyki - dla innych fanów tej muzyki. Ciekawe jakie będą następne propozycje. A o ksiązce Ekerotha wypowiem się jak przeczytam mam nadzieje, ze jak sie ukaze kziazka Antologia SLAYER MAG (znowu to wydaje Basilion Points jak Swedish Death Metal) to tez wydadza ja.

Good questions! I take the oportunity to ask some too. First. "2007 Polish Drag Racing Championships Regulations" These are the general regulations nomatter if aiming to run Baltic cup or KOE? 7.2.b have a Polish drag racing license (the WR license) or other sports license issued by the PMA or foreign license/permit A license from Swedish Car Federation (SBF) would that be ok? 9.2.13. Non-serial fuel tank can be placed only at the original mounting point, in the trunk or inside the rear fenders (but not on the same side as engine) and has to be immovable. The fuel tank has to be made of incombustible material. Fuel wires have to be made of metal or have the metal isolation. Why this idea with having the fuel in the trunk? As long as its covered by the body, and is inside the tube construction (if having one) and not in drivers compartement. I have my fuel tank in aloy placed in front in my car, but it is surounded with tubes. David Reece, former vocalist of Accept, Bangalore Choir and current vocalist of Swedish rockers Gypsy Rose, has finished the recordings of his first solo record for Metal Heaven! To date he is fulfilling his dream, by being given the chance to release his first solo effort entitled âśUniversal Languageâ. This record is truly an expression of his lifes journey, a melodic hardrock album full of big choruses, strong grooves, showcasing past, present and future. Reece started writing and recording this record in late 2008 with Andy Susemihl (former guitarist of U.D.O.) and from the beginning he realized, that Andy understood his vision musically as well as lyrically. After writing such tracks as Before I Die, Fantasy Man and Flesh and Blood he knew, he was on the right track. Andy is also a world class Producer, who will no doubt be a force to be reckoned with. While writing this record, Andy introduced David to Jochen FĂźnders (former bassist of Holy Moses) and after hearing his melodic style, David knew he was a perfect fit. When searching for a drummer, the obvious choice for David was Stefan Schwarzmann! He has known this super talent for a long time and when David asked him to do his record, Stefan hungrily agreed! Roadrunner Records signs Porcupine Tree
Roadrunner Records is pleased to announce the signing of British progressive rock band PORCUPINE TREE, one of the most difficult-to-categorize yet innovative bands making music today. The band's music ranges from psychedelic trip-hop to progressive rock, and a compendium of other sounds in between. Porcupine Tree have already been a part of the international Roadrunner family; they have been signed to Roadrunner International since 2006 and are now transitioning to all territories outside Japan.
Senior VP of A&R for Roadrunner Monte Conner says, "Porcupine Tree have been making vital and important music for many years now but over the last few years in particular, that music has been reaching many new ears. Roadrunner hopes to not only continue that growth here in the U.S. but accelerate it and expose the world to the massive talent this band has. I am honored to welcome Steven Wilson and Porcupine Tree to the Roadrunner fold."
The band is fronted by singer/guitarist Steven Wilson, who, in addition to his critical acclaim with Porcupine Tree, is also known for his work producing other artists, such as Swedish progressive metal group (and now labelmates) Opeth and Norwegian chanteuse Anja Garbarek. Porcupine Tree have released three albums through Lava/Atlantic: In Absentia, Deadwing, and the Grammy-nominated Fear of a Blank Planet, which was recognized as "Best Surround Sound" album in 2007.
The album will contain a 50 minute long continuous song cycle, along with three additional “shorter” songs. Roadrunner plans to release the album on September 22nd. The band will embark on a U.S. tour to coincide with the album hitting stores.

High explosive anti-tank (HEAT) rounds are made of an explosive shaped charge that uses the Neumann effect (a development of the Munroe effect) to create a very high-velocity jet of metal in a state of superplasticity that can punch through solid armor.
The jet moves at hypersonic speeds (up to 25 times the speed of sound) in solid material and therefore erodes exclusively in the contact area of jet and armor material. Spacing is critical, as the jet disintegrates and disperses after a relatively short distance, usually well under 2 metres. The jet material is formed by a cone of metal foil lining, usually copper, though tin foil was common during the Second World War.
The key to the effectiveness of a HEAT round is the diameter of the warhead. As the penetration continues through the armor, the width of the hole decreases leading to a characteristic "fist to finger" penetration, where the size of the eventual "finger" is based on the size of the original "fist". In general, HEAT rounds can expect to penetrate armor of 150% to 250% of their width, although modern versions claim numbers as high as 700%.
HEAT rounds are less effective if they are spinning, the normal method for giving a shell accuracy. The centrifugal force disperses the jet, so the warhead design needs to be modified for use with rifled guns, or fired from smoothbore weapons. A further problem is that if the warhead is contained inside the barrel, then its diameter is restricted to the caliber of the gun. Increasing the caliber to allow a greater diameter makes the gun heavier. Recoilless rifles using lighter barrels and mounts firing HEAT rounds (e.g. the British WOMBAT or Swedish Carl Gustav) have proven to be effective.
Where HEAT is used as the warhead for guided missiles, rifle grenades and spigot mortars, warhead size is not a limiting factor, as these are not contained within the firing weapon's barrel. The Valentine had a relatively small hull and it was not possible to use a turret. Instead a simple armoured open-top box surrounded the gun. The gun was mounted facing over the rear of the hull which kept the overall vehicle length short. This configuration meant that the driver could not occupy his seat when the gun was fired since the breech recoiled into where his head would be. The Archer was classified as a self-propelled gun and as such was operated by the Royal Artillery (RA) rather than a Cavalry or tank regiment.

"Clouds" has been the first turning-point in the career of Swedish TIAMAT. After already incorporating more melodies than comparable Death Metal-bands before, they went one step farther, starkly reducing speed and heaviness for melody and atmosphere, while the keyboards already had been there before and only Johan Edlund's still very rough vocals still reminding of the early works.
The Opener "In A Dream" sounds just like one, slow-paced, with keyboards creating much atmosphere, while the guitars still retain enough heaviness to still label the sound Metal. The following title-track comes over a good bit straighter, with reduced keyboards, but additional Mid-Tempo-Double-Bass, and the vocals in the chorus more shouted than rooted in Death Metal.
"A Caress Of Stars" could almost be labelled as ballad, over a very slow-paced rhythm Edlund more or less whispers his not-so-romantic lines, before the whole instrumentarium sets in and his voice turns rougher as well.
"The Sleeping Beauty" then has turned out to be a TIAMAT-classic, not least by the live-mini-album of the same name, very atmospheric and melodious, yet still with faster/heavier passages, building up an excellent amalgamation of the two extremes, but still atmosphere weighs more on this track. That's just the other way around with "Forever Burning Flame", which is the heaviest and also fastest song on "Clouds", with some almost progressive parts. The end is made up by "Undressed", which is very slow-paced with some plucked acoustic guitar, before culminating in a very intensive chorus.
"Clouds" spelled a first break-through for TIAMAT, which in its evolution was succeeded by classic "Wildhoney", and still is a ground-breaking album.

Well, this is more like it! Swedish stoner rock trio Grand Magus did themselves few favors with their solid but unspectacular 2002 debut, which quietly sunk itself into the general morass afflicting the doom/stoner movement at the time. And when guitarist and singer JB subsequently hooked up with Michael Amott's high-flying Spiritual Beggars, it looked as if Grand Magus were doomed (no pun intended) to vanish altogether, leaving only that one middling release to their name. However, thanks to the incredibly gregarious and liberal nature of the Swedish music scene, here they are â unexpectedly back with a 2003 follow-up that is quite deserving of its imposing title: Monument. Howling winds and mournful guitar lines introduce album opener "Ulvastall (Vargr)," which promptly lurches into gear on an Iommi-approved, bent-note riff and fittingly bleak words intoning âśI'm damned and I'm cursed forever â Destined to walk this land," over and over again. Ensuing single (yeah right â a âśsingle," ha!) "Summer Solstice" steps it up a notch to take us chugging down the highway, and by the time Grand Magus slows it down again for the lysergic roll of "Brotherhood of Sleep" and the gargantuan doom creep of "Baptised in Fire" [sic], retro metal fans will likely be foaming at the mouth over what they're hearing. Simply put, energetic doom doesn't get much better than this, or, for that matter, the album's frightfully heavy next offering, "Chooser of the Slain (Valfader)," which combines chiming bells, concussive power chords, and lyrics of Viking lore to thrilling and terrifying effect. And to wrap things up on a high note, the like-minded "Food of the Gods" offers a final, concise battering before the colossal denouement of ten-minute epic "Ye who SeeksâŚShall Find.". Powerful, steady, unrelenting, and always f**kin' heavy: Monument helped put the bite back into what was then a distressingly flagging strain of heavy metal. â Ed Rivadavia

1. Żorżoroth - komediowy i wiejski black metal (i te okrzyki "gdzie jest żorżoroth podczas setów Satyra i Enslaved yeah), liczyłem, ze może wokalista coś powie i przekonam się, ze mówi ale bycie tró okazało się najwazniejsze, parodia i dramat
2. Soulfly - od początku nie rozumiałem dlaczego są z największym napisem, na BA się przekonałem - gwiazd się nie rejestruje szczególnie jesli mają do odbębnienia set, z którego wiało nudą, zniechęceniem a brzmienie było jedno z najgorszych na BA - hańba
3. Cynic - brutalne wokale ze śladu buahahahaha, liczyłem na wiele a było bardzo cienko
4. Zyklon - widziałem ich drugi raz i ponownie wlecieli jednym uchem a drugim wylecieli, nazwiska same nie grają
5. Keep of Kalesony - nie są w stanie przenieść gęstych aranży na scene i klimat płyt szlag trafia, przekonałem sie o tym kolejny raz

Dzisiaj otrzymałam maila od naszego dobrego znajomego ze Szwecji Micke'go. Umieszczam go poniżej, by każdy mógł się zapoznać z treścią. Micke pisze co słychać u ludzi, których poznaliśmy w zeszłym roku. With our group Carlscrona VolontairRegemente everything just fine. We are in a period with new recrutes, we need 10 - 12 new members and we work very hard to get this. About the equipement we have bought to new canons - replicas of a danish cannon from about 1650. About myselves everything ok. I still work in the county museum even if I this winter had a very hard fight with my boss - it has actually with the Carlscrona VolontairRegemente to do. The museum (the boss) think this group takes to much attention from the museum, the group is a competitor and a rival. But it is not my fault that the group is so popular here in Karlskrona (or may be it is). Well, anyhow the community has supported us very much in this fight. With my lovely russian-swedish family all ok. About the guys from our regiment you met last summer I can tell that Gustav now study in the university to history teacher (what else?). Henke still study in upper secondary school here in Karlskrona but will later this year begin his military service. Amanda, Henkes girlfriend (or I think ex-girl friend) started to study russian and will soon go to Kaliningrad university as exhange student. Must, the big guy with tatoos and long black hair goes in for his heavy-black-metal music band. About the Sail Karlskrona 2009 it will be as last year, but little bit bigger. The group's last studio album, 1992's "Force of Habit", was a decent enough effort that died a quick death at the hands of Capitol Records, who had effectively given up on the band after their failure to capitalize on their early sales potential. Although it would be another five years before EXODUS would reunite with original singer Paul Baloff to record the now-classic live album "Another Lesson In Violence" (one of the greatest "live" albums ever made, in this writer's humble opinion), the band's legend never faded away, with many extreme metal acts citing the group's precision-like delivery and riff-laden approach as a major influence (just ask the likes of KREATOR, AT THE GATES or any of the current purveyors of the ever-popular Swedish "Gothenburg" sound). Seven years later, EXODUS — still mourning the loss of Baloff, who passed away in February 2002 after suffering a massive stroke — have been rejoined by Baloff's replacement, Steve "Zetro" Souza, and have delivered an inspired and impressive comeback album that stays true to the band's pioneering sound while sounding fresh enough to avoid coming across like a mere rehash. Aided in no small part by the crystal-clear, flawless production of British metal producer extraordinaire Andy Sneap, "Tempo of the Damned" opens with several tracks that can only be described as "typical EXODUS". "Scar Spangled Banner" is all dizzying riffs and pounding drums, with Zetro's distinctive delivery and "gang" backing vocals sounding like they could have come straight off one of the band's late '80s releases. "War Is My Shepherd" follows in the same aggressive, up-tempo fashion, while "Blacklist" is a classic EXODUS mid-tempo cruncher that possesses an infectious groove and an equally hooky chorus. "Shroud of Urine", like many of the other cuts on the album, showcases Zetro's much-improved vocal range, with a higher-pitched, scratchier-sounding edge adding to the song's intensity and making it one of the album's highlights. The high standard is maintained for the next couple of cuts, with "Forward March" featuring more classic riffing from the Gary Holt/Rick Hunolt guitar team and vocals that range from "typical Zetro" to something that can only be described as borderline "rapping" (and no, we're not talking LIMP BIZKIT-style ebonics here). "Culling the Herd", while not a personal favorite, represents a slight change of pace, with Souza sounding, for once, like he's not gargling glass and proving that he can carry a melody when necessary. Much has been made of EXODUS' decision to go back to the vaults for material to include on this CD, and for a good reason: "Sealed With A Fist" and "Throwing Down" are both reworked versions of songs originally written for and demoed by WARDANCE, the ill-fated mid-'90s act formed by Holt and drummer Tom Hunting, and unsurprisingly, neither fully justifies its presence on here (especially the latter, which at times sounds like second-rate PANTERA). "Impaler", on the other hand, is an early '80s EXODUS classic that was never before properly captured in a recording studio, and one that comes across as far too NWOBHM-inspired to fit comfortably alongside the much more aggressive nature of the rest of the material. These minor grievances aside, "Tempo of the Damned" is as good an album as one could have hoped for from EXODUS after such a lengthy absence from the recording studio.
